Reviews the current status of public schools in the U.S and the need for facilities managers to sort out the priorities and effectively apply available resources to rectify the most critical problems. Because many school districts do not have professional facilities managers, part of the APPA K-12 challenge is the dissemination of information to school districts seeking to professionalize their staff. Describes how APPA will be reaching out to K-12 community through education, publications, and other resources.
