Performance-based energy efficiency retrofits, as implemented by energy service companies, allow institutions to replace aging and inefficient equipment, reduce energy consumption and associated costs, and improve comfort and productivity levels without spending a dollar from current operating budgets. The ESCO designs, finances, installs, and maintains energy conservation measures and high efficiency equipment in a university's facilities. Provides case studies of ESCO projects at the University of Rhode Island, Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Bowie State University, Ottawa University, and University of Houston Central Campus.
