Describes development of Housekeeping Management Improvement Program, a software program designed to plan, schedule, and control the housekeeping activities at the University of California/Berkeley. Program analyzes comparative breakdown between traditional housekeeping workload measures versus a designed methodology that combines building population/workload measures which, in turn, determine the appropriate designation of staffing and cleaning frequencies for a large housekeeping function with limited resources. Discusses data and calculations and program results.
