"The Good News about LOTO"

Many facility officers may be unaware of OSHA standard 910.147(c)(6)(i), which requires employers to “conduct a periodic inspection of the energy control procedure at least annually to ensure that the procedure and the requirements of this standard are being followed.” It seems to be saying simply that a facility organization must have an annual training refresher on the importance of lockout/tagout (LOTO). Unfortunately, it’s not that easy.
