One way to achieve optimum efficiency with maximum dependency in cooling tower operations, is to replace the traditional cooling tower bleed control with an automatic electronic tower water conductivity monitor and bleed-off system. Discusses the cooling tower system at the Washington State University-Pullman, including policy of weekly tower checks and costs and savings of installing monitors.
