Report of UNC Charlotte's Effective & Innovative Practices award-winning activities. Describes how the university increased its successful recycling program to include construction and demolition waste generated by the ever-expanding campus. Since the inception of the new recycling effort, the campus has recycled and reused more than 2.1 million pounds of material, saving contractors $8,750 in tipping fees, diverting more than 700,000 pounds from landfill, and reducing CO2 emissions. Includes photo of staff members receiving their award check at the APPA 2007 meeting in Baltimore, Maryland in July.
