Report of Grand Valley State University's Effective & Innovative Practices award-winning activities. Describes the Facilities Services unit's Quality Improvement Initiative, which successfully continues to enhance efficiency, lower costs, and support university goals. Each year the Facilities Services departments target two areas for improvements with informal "walk and talk" presentations. Projects have included a student environmental group joining with the university arborist to complete a ravine erosion control project and students working with the safety manager to develop an asbestos management tracking system. Includes photo of staff members receiving their award check at the APPA 2007 meeting in Baltimore, Maryland in July.
