Report on activities of Harrisburg Area Community College, a recipient of APPA's 2007 Award for Excellence. Describes the activities at HACC, from its beginnings in 1964 with three buildings, to its current main campus and 5 regional campuses. Details the facilities department's vision for continuous improvement, which includes strategic goals of improving customer service, improving customer communications, and empowering employees, and performance benchmarks efforts that have provided an environment for effective change. Maintenance, custodial, and grounds staff use APPA Level 2 guidelines; coordinators manage their own shops; and college staff enter work orders in a web-based work order system. Includes photo of staff receiving their Award for Excellence at the APPA 2007 meeting in Baltimore, Maryland in July.
