Case study of University of South Carolina housing department project, USC Take It or Leave It, which formed a coalition representing university housing, facilities, the residence hall association, and student government to increase recycling and sustainability efforts of trash students leave as they move out each spring. Discusses what is collected (personal items and bulk materials), collection methods, project public relations, and resulting donations to charities. In 2002, students generated 37.4 tons of reusable materials.
