"Where Do You Lead From?"

Adapted from the author's doctoral dissertation, conducted under the auspices of APPA's Center for Facilities Research. Emphasizes the importance for facilities managers to consider how their behavior, attitude, and level of job satisfaction impacts the work environment and the performance of the people in it.  Discusses results of questionnaire measuring job satisfaction and organization climate sent to physical plant directors in July 2001. Organizational climate questions, for example, covered internal communication, organizational structure, political climate, professional development opportunities, evaluation, promotion, and regard for personal concern. Summarizes survey's implications.  Includes references on organizational theory and leadership.
