Discusses the importance of a maintenance business plan, using the Ohio State Facilities Commission program as an example. Their Facility Maintenance Report (FMR) is a plan for stewardship of the new facilities for their designed life cycles. Describes FMR's components: plan objectives, macro and detailed description of facility assets, maintenance function, description of key performance indicators, milestone implementation schedule, and summarized cost/benefit table.
