Presents descriptions of the five institutional recipients of APPA's 2003 Effective & Innovative Practices Award, sponsored by Sodexho USA. The award recognizes programs and processes that enhance service delivery, lower costs, increase productivity, improve customer service, generate revenue, or otherwise benefit the educational institution. Winners receive a cash award of $4,000. The winning institutions and project descriptions are American University: Safety Alert Program; Emory University: Using Emory University's Building Acceptance-Occupancy Approval Checklist to Improve Turnover of Buildings from Construction to Maintenance and Operations at Occupancy; Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania: Stockless Custodial Supply Chain; University of Florida: T.O.P.G.U.N.
