Given the fact that facility costs typically rank second only to salaries and benefits in the U.S., there has been a significant increase in approaches to physical asset management.  Describes four driving concepts behind physical asset management, his involvement in an evolving concept of asset management at Brigham Young University's Capital Needs Analysis Center, and new terminology, direction, and principles for asset management.  Outlines the total asset management process and includes diagrams.
