Detailed research study on operation and maintenance expenditures by these campuses, particularly in light of the trend to cut costs. Concludes what makes a campus a "work of art" or award winner does not appear to be reflected in what they spend on O&M. Reviews study methodology; data collection, analysis, and results; identifies study institutions, and includes figures comparing results by institutional type.
