Describes how facilities managers at colleges and universities use the Internet as a means to communicate efficiently and tackle problems that would have taken days, sometimes weeks, to solve.  Provides background on the Internet and offers specific examples from APPA members on its use: Lynn R. Seiler, Iowa State University, when he needed firsthand experience on dealing with natural disasters and FEMA and Phillip Endacott, University of Kansas, learned quickly that a spilled chemical was not toxic.  Describes newsgroups and Gopher and lists five top discussion lists.
