As defined by NACUBO, auxiliary services are those campus operations that furnish services directly or indirectly to students, faculty, and/or staff and that charge a fee related to--but not necessarily equal to--the cost of the service. Examples include housing, food service, and campus bookstores. Covers budget control, organizational variations, program planning, facility and design assistance, facility evaluations, and preventive maintenance.
