Presentation at APPA's 80th Annual Meeting in St. Louis. One of the easiest ways a university can obtain excellence in maintenance efforts is to standardize equipment and construction techniques. Illinois State University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign have developed manuals for architects and engineers working on campus. Describes the reasons and advantages to these standards and the development of standards.  Includes samples from the manuals, including both written standards and graphic examples.
