Discusses the Particle Method of Campus Planning, which replaces the land-use diagram by refocusing site research from causes to effects in environmental design  Explains its characteristics, representation, methodology, theoretical basis, campus procedures, social patterns, sensory patterns, and transport patterns. Provides a case study of how the Newark campus of Rutgers University used the Particle Method in a comprehensive, environmental design study of the campus.  Includes examples of landscape designs, pedestrian diagrams, architectural elements diagrams, and natural elements diagrams related to the Rutgers study.
