The U.S. Department of the Army faces a major challenge in obtaining accurate life-cycle resource information. In an effort to improve life-cycle costing, the U.S. Construction Engineering Research Laboratory has conducted a reserach program.  Covers the Army's experiences in using life-cycle cost engineerng, prediction models, facility description methods, model applications, and computer systems.  Life-cycles are calculated in 3 phases during a facility's life: planning, design, and maintenance.
