Charts Northern Arizona University's journey from winning the 1993 regional Award for Excellence in the Rocky Mountain large campus category to conducting a Facilities Management Evaluation Program using the Strategic Assessment Model in 2000 to working toward the next Award for Excellence. Emphasizes the never-ending quest for continuous improvement. University covers 738 acres in pine forest, with 4.3 million gross square feet of buildings and a facilities budget of $7 million.  FMEP identified current performance and where to improve services.  Demonstrated need for improved planning, communicating with campus community, and defining what the campus wants, capital assets and services.
