Begins by noting that academics are disinclined to think the university needs to change, despite rapid developments in information technology and other areas. Among the developments that will affect how campuses do business: faculty retiring, enrollments increasing, cashless transactions and paperless procurements, web telephoning, grid computing, open source software, groupware, wikis, globalization, outsourcing, electronic course delivery, lifelong learning, etc.
