Author: Hess, George A.
Published In: Facilities Manager
Date: November/December 2003
Discusses the PASE system used at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to manage facility needs. Describes the 4-step process of Planning, Assessing, Selecting, and Evaluating. Under the Assessment phase, for example, the institution assesses current facility conditions and provides the cost for remodeling and construction to meet identified space needs. Stresses that the PACE approach allows the university to manage facilities in a systematic way and has the necessary flexibility to manage changes that occur.
