Discusses the waste handling systems and controls in use at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which generates approximatesly 20,000 ft of low-level radioactive waste each year. The university relies on a centralized system of collection and processing to prepare waste for disposal by incineration, burial in local landfills, and storage for decay or disposal by a commercial waste service.
