Date: 1981

Paper presented at an EPA workshop on Waste Management in Colleges and Universities, held in Madison, Wisconsin, July 1980.  Discusses the waste handling systems and controls in use at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which generates approximatesly 20,000 ft of low-level radioactive waste each year.  The university relies on a centralized system of collection and processing to prepare waste for disposal by incineration, burial in local landfills, and storage for decay or disposal by a commercial waste service.
