During the 1980s, the University of Georgia physical plant department became aware of the constraints placed on normal building operations and maintenance due to the hazards of asbestos-containing material. This manual is the result of the university's efforts to find safe and efficient ways of dealing with the asbestos hazard. Covers background on ACM at the university, organization and staffing, asbestos program manager, asbestos shop, and principle of due diligence. Manual is intended as a comprehensive asbestos abatement and control program (O&M plan) for addressing ACM hazards at the University.
