Classrooms are at the bottom of the campus hierarchy of space use in terms of campus square footage. Yet, classrooms are an indicator of whether campus space is being used well and whether campus space use is changing. This article seeks to fill the gap in the literature to show how classrooms are distributed by size on a campus, how well they are being used, and how their use changes with faculty and student needs and desires.
