The key to successfully meeting the challenges of the future is to understand and manage organizational culture--the invisible barrier to strategic change.  Stresses that new technologies cannot merely duplicate the older methods but must be part of a process engineering approach that reexamines the fundamental assumptions of how a task is performed.  Also discusses predictive maintenance, integrating energy management with maintenance management, and reexamining the labor management relationship as ways of approaching challenges of the future.
