APPA's new and evolving Strategic Assessment Model (SAM) will provide a graphic illustration of the range and depth of facilities activities involved, as well as a basis for developing a road map for improvement. The model is based on a core set of benchmarks and a process for equalizing them for adaptation to any institution, regardless of size, funding source, or mission. Readers are invited to contribute data and help further define the model. Presents original survey instrument and set of definitions related to the 18 core benchmarks requested.
